This old signal bridge once spanned the Lehigh Valley Main Line on the approach to the Delaware River Bridge. Conrail abandoned the Lehigh Valley alignment in favor of the Jersey Central alignment through Phillipsburg, resulting in a still vacant ROW through the city. In typical early Conrail fashion, not much was cleaned up after the abandonment. Rails, ties, signal cabinets, and even signals still line the old route.
