Remarks & Notes
The SP takes an ocean cruise...A westbound SP train is detouring on UP's ex-Western Pacific route just west of Salt Lake City. Back in the mid-eighties, high lake levels all but shut down SP's own causeway across the Great Salt Lake, making detours like this an everyday occurrence. Tensions were high between SP and UP crews during this period. They had to wait another decade to become one happy family.

For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
