The location is Heaton Lodge Junction just west of Mirfield Motive Power Depot which was on the left just beyond the distant bridge. Yet another filthy '8F' hauls one of the seemingly endless procession of westbound coal trains along the Calder Valley. Behind the camera the line diverges, straight on for Sowerby Bridge & Todmorden, left for Huddersfield & Manchester via Standedge. Note the unusual 'trident' colour light signals, a feature in this location.
