Caution - Student Engineer! Each year, in April and November, the Valley Railroad runs its "Your Hand on the Throttle" (YHOTT) program in which students receive a short course in steam locomotive theory, followed by a 1-hour opportunity to actually run one (under close supervision). Here, a YHOTT student enjoys the laboratory portion of the program as he runs in reverse through the beautiful Deep River Landing.
