| Our Victorian forefathers need not have given Nuttal tunnel a castellated portal, nor need they have included a coat of arms or gargoyles above the tunnel mouth. Not only was it a statement of grandeur but also showed their appreciation of history and their sense of permanence. Our current obsession with concrete doesn't quite have the same 'vision' does it? |
