On a clear winter morning, a Comeng EMU bound for the north-eastern suburb of Hurstbridge crosses the wooden trestle at Eltham. This 106 year old bridge is the only wooden trestle still in use on a revenue railway in Melbourne, and at 195 metres in length, is allegedly the longest wooden trestle with a curve still in use in the southern hemisphere. Conveniently, I walked under this bridge every morning on my way to high school! This image appeared on the front cover of the January-February 2009 edition of the Thomas Cook Overseas Timetable.
