The first run of the early morning is fired up in the tiny bit of light that is able to find the ground among the pine trees that surround Fish Camp. Operating since 1965 over a restored portion of the Madera Sugar Pine Lumber Company, this 4-mile long narrow-gauge line runs a one-hour trip just south of Yosemite National Park, either on the train, or on Ford Model A railcars. The passenger cars are converted logging cars. The Shay (a Class 70-3) was built for the West Side Lumber Co. in Tuolumne, CA in 1928.
