By the mid 80s it had calmed down, with a dropoff in pool power, but back in the late 70s, here on Opelousas Street near the Hardy Street shops, you could not BUY a parking spot on the weekends, what with all the pool power from the east and north. Hostlers would bring the sets in and slow for assignment at the fuel rack, and we would just pick 'em off like a turkey shoot.
