| A former Jersey Central GP40PH-2 pushes a train out of Bay Head Yard on home rails along the North Jersey Coast Line. These units are isolated to the Hoboken Division and rarely venture onto the Newark Division. Originally purchased by the NJDOT for the Jersey Central Railroad, these units ran on today's Raritan Valley Line and North Jersey Coast Line into the early NJ Transit years. When built, they were among the heaviest four axle locomotives in the world. |
