| The afternoon yard job has paused for a moment for the conductor to activate the manually operated flashers for the busy Post Road crossing. In this northward looking view on the spur the train is on the short stretch of street side running on East 1st Avenue in downtown Anchorage. This is not what one thinks of when they hear about the Alaska Railroad, but it is no less interesting than the ARR's more famous locations and operations. |
