Remarks & Notes
Two high cab GP39-2s (792 & 799) built in 1978 for use in Kennecott's Bingham Canyon open pit mine still serve on the rails of their original owner. Now lettered for Tangent Rail Services which provides contract switching on the remains of Kennecott's rail infrastructure, they now earn a living hauling acid trains to and from the UP and switching boxcars of finished copper from the mills out for export. Here the two sisters can be seen shoving nearly 100 cars around the reverse curves just east of the 2100 South Hwy overpass as they make a delivery to the UP's Garfield Yard.
