For 2009, UP finally blessed us NorCal railfans with a return of Steam to Donner. It has been 10 years since UP Steam last crossed over SP's High Sierra route and today was a great example of a nicely run, classic act put on by the Union Pacific. Old Heritage equipment got to mix in with Heritage newbies - UP1996/1983 as diesel helpers!
At Andover, we're above tunnels 13 and 42 at an elevation of about 6,440 feet.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
