The sweet smell of coal smoke from a standard gauge steam locomotive permeated the Alabama woods for the first time in over fourteen years thanks to the crew of Flagg Coal 75 and the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum. HOD operates regular diesel excursions along this refurbished 3-mile stretch of the old L&N Alabama Mineral Belt (more info: www.hodrrm.org).
