| Four-cylinder compound 2-10-0 No 2958 is on standby duty at Olten depot in 1964. There were 28 of these locomotives built by SLM in 1913-17 numbered 2951-78. Known as 'Elephants' No 2978 was the last standard gauge stem loco built for normal service on the SBB and is preserved in working order. Two others, Nos 2901-02 were built 1913 as four-cylinder non-compound locos and were later rebuilt as compounds. |
