Remarks & Notes
Living on borrowed time... Which will the sun set on first, the Helme Snuff Mill or the blue paint on CSX GP40-2 4428? The snuff mill, built in the late 1800s and by 1925, the largest in the world, has sat vacant since 1993 and is scheduled to be demolished as part of a plan to redevelop the area as a commercial and residential center. CSX and NS, the two railroads which split up Conrail in 1999, have slowly been repainting engines from CR's "Dress Blue" into corporate colors.
