FEC 226 at Moultrie Junction. This is where the original FEC main line (the gap in the trees behind the train) headed for Palatka. That line now is only a branch line to a warehouse 5 miles away. The train is coming off of the Moultrie Cutoff which was built between Bunnell and St. Augustine in 1926 and is the current mainline today. And yes on the FEC you can still find 2nd generation power leading intermodal trains. |
