STILL THERE: Several weeks after it's arrival at the Illinois Railway Museum, ATSF 543 still sits on it's eight axle flatcar awaiting off-loading. This unusual switcher is Fairbanks-Morse H12-44TS, basically a H12-44 with a boiler added for making steam heat for the passenger trains it serviced at Chicago's Dearborn Station. The unusual engine block in front of the switcher is one of the original Winton diesel engines from the 1930's.
