A close up look of the ARMS barge, Anchorage Provider, being unloaded at Whittier. This barge not only hauls freight cars but also containers that are stacked on racks above the rail cars. If one looks closely you can see the idler flat car has attached to the Procor covered hopper and has started to pull the first track to start the unloading process. The barge is in Prince William Sound and although the weather is overcast the conditions are calm as can be seen by limp wind sock. If the seas are too rough unloading isn't possible. I can only imagine how difficult this job must be in the winter time.
