Operating with leased CalTrain cars (from the San Francisco Peninsula service) and Amtrak power and cab cars, the "Orange County Commuter," train 582, began operations on April 30, 1990, continueing until the start of Metrolink service on this line in March 1994, providing service between Los Angeles and San Juan Capistrano. The afternoon train, #582, is seen here making its scheduled stop at the Santa Ana Transportation Center.
