Rolling out of the sunset through rural eastern NC, a CLNA local rumbles along behind one of my favorite units, a GP30. The train is returning north to Plymouth with about 18 cars from Chocowinity. The CLNA operates 159 miles of track from Raleigh to the coast, but trains run infrequently. However, their collection of rag-tag EMD power is sure to please any fan of rural shortline railroading.
