Remarks & Notes
A Utah Railway coal empty charges east at track speed through Rio on Union Pacific's Provo Subdivision. Today's train is lead by G&W painted MK50-3 #5005, the only orange unit (for now, anyway) in a production series of only six, all owned by the Utah Railway Company. The train is bound for the Wildcat loadout near Helper, and will be shipped west to the Intermountain Power plant near Delta, Utah. Majestic 10,685 ft. Mt. Loafer has plenty of snowpack for the upcoming summer months on this late winter morning in Utah's Wasatch Range.
