Remarks & Notes
Once in a while, one of the big Alcos would get loose from the Midwest and grace us with its presence on the Selkirk to Boston runs. Penn Central 6330 was the flagship of the Century 636 fleet. The railroad used this power for hauling iron oar and coal in the Mingo Junction area. I caught up with this great one on the head of NE-4 at the foot of a great farm. Even though it is still winter, the day is warm and the fireman has his window wide open.
