Wabash E8 #1009 has been in Roanoke for quite awhile. I also am led to believe that this was EMD's 10,000th production unit. Here it is, in Roanoke, 25 years ago.
Note: We didn't find out until just now (July 2012) that this locomotive was severely damaged just 5 months after this shot was taken by the Election Day Floods in Roanoke, 1985. Click on WAB 1009 to see the sad state of this locomotive.
