ALCo. RSD16 #8491 leaves Monte Coman Yard with an empty tank-car train bound for the oil reloading facilites at Malargûe (Mendoza). The rail haulage of oil from Malargûe to refineries in Lujan de Cuyo (Mendoza) and San Lorenzo (Santa Fe) was discontinued in 1991 when a new oil pipeline was put in service, ending tank-car trains in Monte Coman for good. Schenectady built 130 of these world-only model RSD16 units in 4 orders between December 1957 and February 1959. No. 8491 was originally assigned to the D. F. Sarmiento Line of Ferrocarriles Argentinos, entering service as number 4606 in February 1958.
