Northbound and southbound Amtrak "Coast Starlights" meet in San Luis Obispo, California, on August 25, 2001. Amtrak P42DC 65 and an F40PH are in charge of train #11 (Seattle to Los Angeles) and Dash 8-32BWH 505 and a pair of P42DCs are on the head-end of train #14 (Los Angeles to Seattle), with private car Scottish Thistle on the rear.
