Remarks & Notes |
Long before the internet and cell phones sometimes we relied on plain dumb luck as it was in this case.It was a Friday the 13th and I was visiting family in Atlanta. Two hours before I made this shot I had stopped in a local hobby shop and was browsing the railfan magazines when I noticed this really cool looking
GP59 that the NS had painted up in Southern paint that
had been released from the Chattanooga shops the month before.I bought the magazine and a few HO cars and off I went to see what I could find.I found this overpass near NS's Inman yard and waited to see what might come along.Well it wasn't long before I couldn't believe my eyes what I was seeing. That Southern painted GP59 was leading a northbound out of the yard.
Definitly made a nice start of my vacation that year. |
