Just a few minutes before sunset of a warm late August day WC 7638,IC 3102,WC 6579 highball west at Vandyne. The CN merger had happened the prior fall and most of the WC's vintage 4 axle units had already been sold, scrapped or sent to the storage lines. The replacements were CN GP38's, GP40-2L(W)'s and IC GP40's all of which left a bit to be desired.
