| After leaveing Steelton, Mn as trailing units behind a couple DMIR SD38's this pair of SD-M's found themselves on the point of this train after it was split in two at Prentice due to loss of air pressure in the cold weather. The elderly CNW ore cars seemed to survive the "normal" routine of trips from Escanaba to Empire Mine with few problems but every winter when they were assigned to the long runs from Escanaba to Minoreca problems seemed to arise. |
