Remarks & Notes
The National Railway museum at York has a subsidiary in the County Durham village of Shildon where years ago an important wagon works was situated. Last month a guest engine was transferred from York and was none other than the fastest steam locomotive ever, the world famous Mallard. A toy swapmeet is held at the museum every first weekend in July and Mallard can be seen last on the right in amongst the toy train traders stalls. Also in view working from the right are 60800 Green Arrow, a 2-6-2 locomotive and the first ever successful British mainline diesel, Deltic .
