Remarks & Notes |
Summit Excursion train #43 loads on the Ore Dock for the equipment's second trip of the day up the mountain to the White Pass Summit. As far as I could tell from my brief time there, Ore Dock only gets serviced on days on which there are four ships calling on the Klondike gateway town. The murky aqua color of the water is caused by glacier rock flour, which consists of silt-sized particles of rock, generated by glacial erosion and grinding. Its opaque nature really makes the scene look like a model layout. |
