U-1-c #6040 with 73" drivers is hostled at Brush St. passing the old Standard Oil [Indiana] crown pump. Most of the 5 locomotives in this class (#6037-41) were gradually equipped with disc drivers, including #6039 which resides today at Steamtown. Spoked #6040 was working Detroit-Durand service by this date. Another view of the engine still in service in 1958 by David Leonard shows the conversion to disc drivers, see it here
