Running on Penn Central, the flat-black High Iron Special gets some mid-day admiration from the crowd as seen from Jackson St. This special ran the weekend of Sept. 12/13, Harrisburg-Horseshoe Curve round-trips, turning around at Gallitzin on the balloon track. Later on this same roll of Kodachrome, the photographer chased a SOU 4501 move in Virginia the following week. It ran a series of trips out of Roanoke the weekend of 9/20/70. A steamy September indeed.
