I wanted to capture in a timeless way the beginning of a journey, the opportunity presented itself at Machynlleth Railway station on the last day of the summer steam services on the Cambrian Line. Despite being August, the weather was grey and wet, rather than focus on the train I took a close up of the leather travel bag with the engine in the background, because there is little to fix the time or place it would allow the viewer to come to their own view as to who was travelling, where to and the reason for their journey.
