Remarks & Notes
The Cass Scenic Railroad's Shay #4 and #5 are seen from this aerial view as they depart the Cass depot for an impressive doubleheader up the mountain to Bald Knob. Shay #5, built in 1905, has spent its whole life at Cass and Shay #4, built in 1922, arrived at Cass in 1943 and was put to work on Cass hill hauling timber off the mountain and in 1963, became the first Cass Scenic Railroad road engine.
