With a new crew on board, this empty has all 3 C30's pounding their way out of Clay Switch on the west end of the Passenger Main in Galesburg. This crew has 234 miles trip to Creston, IA, for the next crew change. BN's West Burlington Shops were experimenting with higher horse power on some of the C30-7's, and those units were placed with red number boards for classification.
