Remarks & Notes
A snazzy team of a BNSF GP50 (BNSF class GP25 due to having its turbo pegged) and an ex Santa Fe GP40X (also with a pegged turbo) shove baretables into Hobart Yard and past iconic Hobart Tower. The tower was built by the San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lake Route (later the Los Angeles & Salt Lake), a subsidiary of the Union Pacific, to guard and protect its crossing of the California Southern (a Santa Fe subsidiary) line from Vernon to Rendondo Beach. A later extension to San Pedro also saw trains run through here. Today, trains going into the Alameda Trench, still go through here.
