Remarks & Notes
What a snow blower? This piece of equipment was used by the Erie Lackawanna [and D&H] for burning weeds in the summer and to clear snow and ice from the switches in the winter. Never saw it do anything else. Was probably not the most effective or environmentally friendly piece of equipment. Smell from fuel and burnt creosote on the ties was, . . well, . . different. Did other railroads use these? Any still using this method?
