A LASTA Crew member prepares to assist with photo ops for attendees at Gretna Fest, 2010. 745 was stationed close to her birthplace of Algiers, and had to do some street running to pose here. Fest goers were treated to the rare opportunity of seeing a fully restored steam locomotive fired and smoking, and could ring the bell and blow the whistle during cab tours. 745 is the last remaining operational Louisiana-built steam locomotive and is operated by the Louisiana Steam Train Association (www.lasta.org).
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
