Southern Railway 2-8-4 #2716, built as one of 90 "Kanawha type" steam engines for C&O, is on day one of a two day Birmingham, AL to Opelika, AL pair of excursion round-trips. The excursion manager had the Opelika Switch Engine spot this specialty gondola car earlier in the week at this location
