| After the WC bought up the GB&W most of the Alcos were quickly stored with no thought that they would ever see service on WC. The winter of 1993-94 was one of the worst of the 90's and coupled with an onslaught of seasonal iron ore moves the WC was quickly power short by early Jan. 94. Some of the GB&W Alcos were pulled out of the storage lines and after a quick stencil job were sent to work mainly in the Green Bay area with a few trips to Iron Mountain on the CNW ANPRA-PRANA trains that ran north of Green Bay. 311 is waiting for a crew to come on duty and will soon be switching North Green Bay Yard. |
