On my first trip to the USA I packed an awful lot into 2 weeks. I drove Route 66 from Chicago to Williams in Arizona via Memphis where I rode the Grand Canyon railroad. whereas that trip was spectacular for the destination the Royal Gorge was spectacular for the trip alone. 2 and a half hours of bliss as this train slowly wound its way through the fabulous gorge. The highlight was passing under this suspension bridge which I believe is the highest in the world. well worth visiting if you are ever in Colorado
