Amtrak's southbound Vermonter train 55 is rolling through sweeping curves in West Hartford, VT with P42-9 101 leading the regular quintet compliment of Amfleet cars and trailing Amtrak P42-9 49 on the way south for a stop at White River Jct.

The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
