Yes Virginia, there ARE equine railfans. Meet Nikki. She's a 4-year old Norwegian Fjord Horse from Golden Lane Fjords in Damariscotta, Maine. She and her teammates have become regular participants and the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum's annual Victorian Christmas event. The horse teams provide wagon or sleigh rides for museum patrons, depending on the snow situation. And yes, I have determined that Nikki is a die-hard railfan. Whenever the line's steam engine shows up at Alna Center, this little gal can't take her eyes off it. She'll look over her shoulder, or over her teammates to check out the action. Fortunately, for this trip, her owner Steve conveniently positioned the team to give Nikki a front row seat!
