General Belgrano Railroad's 1.200 HP General Electric model U12C #6706, built at Erie, Pa. back in 1957, leaves the former Buenos Aires Midland Railroad terminal at Puente Alsina with a Libertad-bound commuter train. Consist is former Hungarian-built GANZ diesel railcar, downgraded from a diesel-powered three-unit train to a set of hauled coaches. In the background, the Puente Alsina running shed hosts other sets of GANZ equipment, whose brightly colored carbodies contrast against the smoking stacks and the shabby factory buildings still active with industrial activity.
