| Growing up in Chicagoland, whenever the gates came down and we were stopped at a railroad crossing I couldn't wait until the train arrived. This image illustrates why. This is a Burlington crossing on the triple track mainline in suburban Brookfield, Illinois. CB&Q 5618 is eastbound with an inbound freight train. Westbound, we have what appears to be an A-B-B-A set of F3 diesels heading a caboose hop. You can see the F unit pilot beneath the 5618's tender as it passes. |
