Remarks & Notes |
Geep Trifecta! It's getting harder and harder to find a three scheme consist on the ARR these days as only three units still wear their as delivered 1970s black and gold from the days of federal ownership. 1978 vintage 3012 is all tricked out as to bring a tear to the eye of any Espee fan! Big plow, marker lights, dual headlights, and L-shaped windshield are classic features from the days when EMD still customized units. 3011 to the rear was completely rebuilt in 2001 and besides the new paint also received a Head End Power generator for passenger duties which explains the odd shape of the long hood. Note: the photographer is a railroad employee with permission to be on the property and was wearing all required PPE while taking this photograph. |
