Union Pacific bay-window caboose 24515, photographed in Modesto, California, was originally Rock Island 17097. These cars were built by ICC in 1967, 1968, 1970, and 1971 for Union Pacific and leased to Rock Island. When the Rock Island ceased operations on April 1, 1980, these cabooses were returned to owner Union Pacific.
