Fourteen mtys hit the ground, with five overturning in this derailment fourteen miles from Oneida. The derailment was blamed on the gauge at the time , though never heard of the end cause. RJ Corman uses NS power to run coal mtys from the Rathole main in Oneida to the Baldwin coal prep plant at Devonia, forty-two miles away. The plant was owned by National Coal and has just recently been bought by Southern Coal.
