I really don't know where to start on this one. This was taken in front of the yard office at WM's yard in Hagerstown, MD on Nov. 15, 1976. Railroading was in a state of flux at the time. The PC GP35 was now owned by Conrail. It had brought in an empty hopper train from Rutherford, PA. WM was being assimilated into the vast Chessie System and much of the line abandoned. Roller bearings were replacing friction bearings, and at some point in the not to distant future, there would not be any need for the car inspectors oil can.
