SCL trainman J. Malcolm Dix was protecting the movement as a set of SCL power backed through Acca Yard enroute to the Bryan Park Terminal engine facility after bringing in a heavy phosphate train from the south on March 9, 1972. SCL's Alcos rarely made an appearance in Richmond, and most often when they did, it was bringing a phosphate train up from Florida. In the background, under the signal bridge, Hamlet bound SCL No. 227 was getting a brake test and a RF&P yard engine was working the rear of an inbound SCL train.
